Plenty of tasty and inexpensive home-made veggie options on the menu (and meaty things too). Cosy fireside drinking and dining, with benches outside along the canal towpath for when the sun shines. Its called a cafe, but really its a very decent pub with food.
Its good to see an historic building like the Canalside doing such a good trade alongside all the new kids on the block nearby. Great spot for people and canal-boat watching!
Lovely place. Well worth a visit.
Obs: the ladies loos could do with some attention and seem to be designed with miniature people in mind. They really did shoe-horn those loos into a very small space! -

On two separate visits a simple bar order was delivered incorrectly and had to be corrected, much to the annoyance of the member of staff serving us (the same one on both occasions). This in itself would be excusable, but coupled with the filthy cutlery (see photo) means we won't be returning.

Lovely cosy little pub/cafe with warm fireplaces inside and outdoor seating right next to the canal to watch the barges come and go. We didn't have food but there were omelettes and such like available, plus cakes and pastries. We only stopped for drinks and enjoyed our visit. The bar is well stocked and hot drinks are available.

The Canalside Cafe is a cute little place near Brindley Place. It's completely charming, with mis-matched furniture and cutlery, a wide selection of alcohol and home cooked food. I've only ever had the breakfast which is a steal at £5 for a full English and a cup of tea. It's not the best breakfast in Brum but it is completely satisfying. Come here on a sunny day, fight for a seat and enjoy a pint in a gorgeous location.

Great little pub by the canal. Cozy, friendly staff and food tastes surprisingly good (loved the veggie sausages) for something that costs less than 5£. Only downside is the waiting time for food. If you do order make sure you have around 30min. But its worth the wait to be honest. To the pub owner, improve your serving time and this could be a true pub landmark for birmingham.
